The movie begins with Himesh Reshammiya (HR) performing the song Assalam Vaalekum, on stage in Germany and his subsequent arrest. It is revealed that a reporter of Indian origin was found murdered with evidence convicting Himesh as the killer. His arrest leads to his imprisonment and subsequent flash backs reveal the incidents leading to the arrest. The flash back begins with HR's arrival in Germany for a tour, introducing him as a rock star from India. He is accompanied by Shravan (his friend and presumably manager too). The duo meet Ria, the event manager for the shows and love sparks between HR and her. Ria tries to confide her feelings about HR to her father but fails to convince him about HR's integrity. Her father insinuates HR of being lascivious. HR then meets him and convinces him about his feelings for Ria and convinces him for the marriage.
